I was more than excited to have found out that my mom and dad were able to help me throw such an amazing sweet sixteen party. I am quite ecstatic that my sixteenth birthday party was so terrific. My mom and dad were able to pay for a very nice entertainment group that successfully took care of every single entertainment task for my party. I never knew that over three-hundred of my high school classmates would show up at my party. I guess this is what happens when you go to school in New York City. I am quite happy to have been able to experience the best sixteenth party of all-time. I know that this party will always be remembered, especially by me. I could not ask for such a marvelous sixteenth birthday party. I know that my parents search high and low to make sure that I was able to have an exciting party.

I used to just think that graffiti was just an eye sore, that is until I found out that the youngest son of my adopted brother was using it as his art form. Inspired by Banksy, he was delighting in tagging in the most unlikely spaces and he was so proud when one of his art pieces appeared in a book of tagging.
I wonder now, if you gave a whole lot of wall space in a museum to these kids and told them,”Have at it. Do anything you want!” if they would grab their spray cans and tag the walls and maybe even venture into the more accepted world of paint and brush or if they would say, “Hell no” because half of the fun of tagging and other graffiti is doing it when others don’t want you to.
Somehow, I don’t think a museum wall would satisfy these kids. I think that when they grab their spray cans and tag the local trains or tag the over pass, which is so high up in the air that it would make me queasy even to think about getting up there, they are more interested in showing their form of courage than they are interested in showing the scope of their artistic vision. In a land with no great hunt with which to prove ones valour, tagging comes to the rescue. I don’t like it.
Yet, I see the need for these young boy to have some way to test their manhood. It is sad to me that there are so few other ways now, and so few real men to adopt these boys and to teach them what it means to be a real man. My adopted nephew and I lost his dad awhile back. He is now but one of many fatherless boys who are seeking ways to transition into adulthood and for a time he chose graffiti… He got into trouble for it… I wonder why they did not just tell him to clean it up and give him paint to paint over it. It would have been even better if they could have assigned a male police officer to be his mentor to guide him in that task and perhaps even through life. I think that, just perhaps, we as a people need to find activities and strong and good male role models for our boys. Until we do, graffiti will continue to be prevalent.
