Finding Beauty With A Magnifying Glass
Jul 2nd
I once read a book about a man who wanted to see if he could find a beetle. Not just any beetle, mind you, but a beetle of exquisite beauty. And so, early one bright sunny day, he set off to find such a beetle. Now, when searching for a treasure of such small stature, it is imperative to take your time, and leave no rock unturned (literally). The man began his search with a contagious enthusiasm for the task at hand. Slowly but surely, step by step, he scoured the ground for beetles matching his criteria. Dirt, rocks, gravel, grass — the terrain varied but the mission stayed the same. Carrying only a notebook for writing down his observations, and a full page magnifying glass for amplifying his subjects, the man continued on his quest. Little did he know what he was about to discover. For not five minutes into his journey, he stumbled quite accidentally upon a rare, undiscovered beetle of such majesty and grace that the man fell backward upon first catching sight of it. He named it Beautius Maximus.
